MediaTek announces a new 5G enabled chipset for Mid-range users



MediaTek announces yet another 5G-enabled chipset, the Dimensity 720, and this one goes even lower in the price bracket. It's also the first from the company in the Dimensity 700-series.
It's built on the 7nm manufacturing process and employs an octa-core CPU that consists of 2x Cortex-A76 cores and 6x Cortex-A55 cores coupled with a Mali-G57 MC3 GPU. The chipset can be paired with LPDRR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.


As far as 5G capabilities go, the mid-tier chip supports the sub-6GHz standard. To address the relatively higher power consumption of 5G, MediaTek is counting on the so-called 5G UltraSave technology to save on some juice.


Other notable features include 90Hz, HDR10+ display support, Bluetooth 5.1, advanced APU for machine learning, 64MP cameras, or 20MP+16MP dual camеra configurations. Of course, 4K recording is also possible.
MediaTek says that the first Dimensity 720-powered smartphones will arrive in the following months and given the pricing of the Dimensity 820 phones right now of around $250, we suspect the 720 will bring the price even lower.

Neuralink: Elon Musk unveils pig with chip in its brain

  Elon Musk has unveiled a pig called Gertrude with a coin-sized computer chip in her brain to demonstrate his ambitious plans to create a working brain-to-machine interface. Microsoft to Phase out Support for legacy browser Internet Explorer in Upcoming year

From the upcoming year, Microsoft 365 apps and services will no longer support Internet Explorer. Microsoft is bidding farewell to Internet Explorer 11 as well as Microsoft Edge Legacy. The company will be withdrawing support for the browser in a phased manner. Starting November 30, the Microsoft Teams web app will no longer support Internet Explorer 11. By August 17, 2021, the browser will no longer be supported by the remaining Microsoft 365 apps and services. Meanwhile, it is also ending support for the Microsoft Edge Legacy desktop app on March 9, 2021. After this date, the desktop app will no longer receive new security updates. Microsoft has reportedly been planning to cut support for the Internet Explorer brand for quite some time now, a move which first became apparent in 2015 with the company rolling out the new Edge browser under the codename 'Project Spartan'.
