Neuralink: Elon Musk unveils pig with chip in its brain

Elon Musk has unveiled a pig called Gertrude with a coin-sized computer chip in her brain to demonstrate his ambitious plans to create a working brain-to-machine interface. "It's kind of like a Fitbit in your skull with tiny wires," the billionaire entrepreneur said on a webcast. His start-up Neuralink applied to launch human trials last year. The interface could allow people with neurological conditions to control phones or computers with their minds. Mr.Musk argues such chips could eventually be used to help cure conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, and spinal cord injuries. But the long-term ambition is to usher in an age of what Mr.Musk calls "superhuman cognition", in part to combat artificial intelligence so powerful he says it could destroy the human race. Elon Musk reveals brain-hacking plans Gertrude was one of three pigs in pens that took part in Friday's webcast demo. She took a while to get going, but when she ate and sniffed

Google Camera 7.5 changes the file naming scheme and stops saving portrait photos in separate folders

Google Camera 7.5, the latest version of the camera app for Google Pixel smartphones, had earlier been spotted throwing around hints for the Pixel 4a 5G  and Pixel 5, alongside hints for features such as audio zoom, expanded social share, and more camera modes. The same version of the app also brings around some more changes, notably a change in the file naming scheme for photos and finally stopping the behavior for saving portrait photos in a separate folder. In Google Camera 7.5, portrait photos will no longer be saved into their own folders, which is a move that is likely to be appreciated by everyone. On older versions, any portrait pics that you clicked would be saved inside individual folders within the DCIM/Camera directory, which was frankly a terrible implementation. Using most gallery solutions would mean that you had to venture into each individual folder to check out the images, plus your photos would not show up chronologically, and deleting the pictures would still leave

New Google Cards !! Here is the guide to create it

Image: Google __________________________________________________________________________________ Google is testing a new user-created public profile system called “people cards,” which will let users create their own profile (including their job, links to their social media platforms, a brief bio, and more) that will appear directly in Google search results. It’s similar to how celebrities and businesses already appear. The new cards are only being tested in India in English to start. To set up a new people card, simply search the phrase “add me to search” while logged in to your Google account. From there, Google will bring you to a new page that lets you create the card. The only mandatory fields are name, occupation, location, and an “about” bio, although you can also add information on your education, hometown, links to your website and other social media, and even your email and phone number (should you feel comfortable posting those on a publicly accessible Google search). Microsoft is taking in charge to buy the Chinese App TikTok

Microsoft has posted a statement yesterday on its corporate blog that says it will continue discussions on a potential TikTok purchase in the U.S. As a part of the statement, it says that it may invite other “American investors” to participate on a minority basis. The company says that this is a result of conversations between CEO Satya Nadella and President Trump. That is, basically, the ‘news’ here. Previous reports and our own digging pointed to the situation is totally in the hands of the White House, with Microsoft willing to make the buy but having roadblocks in the form of Presidential sentiment. If Satya has engaged Trump directly then there could be light at the end of this possibility tunnel after all. “Following a conversation between Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and President Donald J. Trump, Microsoft is prepared to continue discussions to explore a purchase of TikTok in the United States,” the statement reads. “Microsoft fully appreciates the importance of addressing the
