Gboard new update:Google is rolling out smart compose in Gboard

Google demonstrated the Smart Compose feature that uses machine learning to autocomplete sentences.Sentences.Smart Compose was launched as an exclusive feature for Gmail and Only available via G Suite accounts and limited to Pixel 3 devices. In early 2019, Google expanded the feature to all Gmail users and later on in the year to Google Docs for G Suite accounts. Now, Smart Compose is rolling out on Gboard for messaging services, starting with Google Messages, Telegram, and WhatsApp.
Android app including Gmail and Messages (as well as the now-defunct Inbox and Allo) have had the Smart Reply feature that offers instant responses generated machine learning. The feature was also released for third-party messaging apps with the help of an API prior to the launch of Android 10. But, Smart Compose is a step ahead of Smart Reply as it suggests words that might follow as you’re typing and these suggestions also change dynamically with each added word. Not just that, Smart Compose also allows you to tweak the message instead of sending it directly.
google notes Smart Compose is available with the latest beta of Google’s keyboard app Gboard, that was updated last week. Similar to Gmail and Google Docs, you can swipe right across the suggested sentence to autocomplete it.

The feature is also supported in popular third-party messengers like WhatsApp and Telegram other than Android Messages. But since it has been enabled by Gboard and not the apps themselves, we may see it on other messengers. Although I’m running the same version of Gbaord in India, the feature is not available for me, which means it might either be available only for an A/B test group or restricted geographically.

Neuralink: Elon Musk unveils pig with chip in its brain

Elon Musk has unveiled a pig called Gertrude with a coin-sized computer chip in her brain to demonstrate his ambitious plans to create a working brain-to-machine interface. "It's kind of like a Fitbit in your skull with tiny wires," the billionaire entrepreneur said on a webcast. His start-up Neuralink applied to launch human trials last year. The interface could allow people with neurological conditions to control phones or computers with their minds. Mr.Musk argues such chips could eventually be used to help cure conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, and spinal cord injuries. But the long-term ambition is to usher in an age of what Mr.Musk calls "superhuman cognition", in part to combat artificial intelligence so powerful he says it could destroy the human race. Elon Musk reveals brain-hacking plans Gertrude was one of three pigs in pens that took part in Friday's webcast demo. She took a while to get going, but when she ate and sniffed ...

However, Apple's announcement came soon after global chip making giant Qualcomm indicated at a brief delay in the launch of the iPhone 12 line up that could comprise four new models. Akash Palkhiwala, Qualcomm CFO had suggested the delay and said: “a slight delay that pushes some of the units out from the September quarter to the December quarter for us.” iPhone 12 range will be announced on the week commencing October 12 (which might mean an announcement on Tuesday, October 13, since Apple often unveils thin...
